Winkler Wholesale Grocers, an Indiana-based supermarket company, has entered into a partnership with ShopHero to offer online grocery shopping to more than 400 independent grocery stores across six Midwest states that retail its products.

The participant grocery stores are located in Missouri, northern Indiana, eastern Ohio, northern Illinois, and southern Michigan.

ShopHero’s platform is said to enable independent grocers irrespective of their size to quickly and easily get online. Retailers have full control over their site and the ability to provide curbside pickup and/or delivery on a schedule they set as per their store’s requirements and abilities.

Josh Winkler – president and CEO at Winkler Wholesale Grocers said: “We saw the importance of offering a top-notch online grocery solution to our grocers, and we’ve been very impressed with the ShopHero team. They have the best technology we’ve seen in the market, but more importantly, their team understands the independent grocer.”

The ecommerce platform of ShopHero includes a picking tool that is said to optimize order picking, alert shoppers when their order is ready, and also track deliveries in real-time.

Rob Christian – CEO of ShopHero said: “Online grocery ordering is here to stay and we commend Josh Winkler and his team for being thought leaders in an industry that hasn’t experienced much change over the last few decades. Their retailers will appreciate how simple it is to implement, and the shoppers will love all of the little details that go into each website – like the ability to search the store’s entire inventory and add items to their cart right from the search bar.”
