Sintavia breaks ground on metal additive manufacturing plant in Hollywood

Chemical industry news : Florida-based metal additive manufacturer Sintavia has started construction on its new metal additive manufacturing plant in Hollywood to cash in on the growing additive manufacturing industry which is estimated to more than triple in the coming three years.

The new 55,000 square foot metal additive manufacturing factory, which is being built with an investment of $15 million by Sintavia, is slated to begin operations in late 2018.

Sintavia expects the new advanced metal additive manufacturing facility to quadruple its current production capacity. The new facility will also double as the metal additive manufacturer’s headquarters.

Commenting on the new metal additive manufacturing factory in Hollywood, Brian R. Neff – the Chairman and CEO of Sintavia, said: “Our new facility, when complete, will serve as template for future additive manufacturing facilities around the world.

According to Sintavia, the new metal additive manufacturing facility in Hollywood is anticipated to open up 110 new roles for skilled technicians and support personnel. The facility will also house more than $25 million worth advanced manufacturing equipment, stated the metal additive manufacturer.

The metal additive manufacturing plant in Hollywood will have equipment like metal printers, vacuum furnaces, a metallurgical and mechanical lab, hot isostatic presses, post-processing equipment, along with a CT scanner.
