RWE, a German electric utility company, has begun commercial operations on the 151MW Peyton Creek Wind Farm in Matagorda County, Texas.

The commissioning of the Texan wind farm located in the ERCOT south market comes almost a year after its previous owner E.ON began construction. It can be noted that E.ON transferred its renewables business to RWE in 2019.

The Peyton Creek wind project comprises 48 turbines supplied by Nordex with each of them having a capacity of 3.15MW turbines. The wind farm in Texas can generate enough renewable energy to meet the power consumption of more than 45,000 homes.
