Recently, DISR said that urgent steps were in progress to secure the continued safety and security of the Northern Endeavour FPSO following the liquidation of the Northern Oil and Australia group of companies (NOGA). The department also announced the establishment of the Northern Endeavour Temporary Operations Program to give funding to support the operation and maintenance of the Northern Endeavour vessel.

As part of the program, DISR signed in Upstream Production Solutions to provide operations and maintenance services for reinstating minimum manning and for the restoration of safety-critical services to the Northern Endeavour FPSO.

Upstream Production Solutions has remobilized personnel to the FPSO and is moving ahead under an initial short term contract to deliver services to the department on commercial terms, in a non-production environment.
