Liuhua 29-2 gas field : CNOOC begins production from South China Sea field

, a Chinese state-owned oil and gas company, has started production from its 100% owned Liuhua 29-2 gas field in the .

The Liuhua 29-2 gas field is located in the eastern part of the sea, 300km southeast of Hong Kong.

It is contained in water depth of nearly 750m.

CNOOC said that it had built a new subsea wellhead for the project and one development well planned, which will fully use the existing production facilities of Liwan 3-1 gas field and also other deepwater gas fields.

The Liuhua 29-2 gas field is anticipated to hit a peak production of nearly 41 million cubic feet of natural gas per day this year.
