Larsen & Toubro (L&T) bags multiple orders in India and overseas

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that its construction division has bagged orders in power transmission and distribution, building and factories, and transportation infrastructure businesses.

The Indian construction engineering company has secured orders for the designing and construction of a couple of 132/11kV substations in Dubai.

The turnkey orders call for the supply of gas insulated switchgear and other advanced equipment.

L&T said that the new substations will improve the capacity of the network to address the demand growth of the domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors.

The company also received additional orders for ongoing projects in India.

Its factories business of Buildings & Factories has won an order from a major cement manufacturer for the construction of a 3.5MTPA brownfield cement plant in Nimbahera in Rajasthan. L&T will be responsible for civil, mechanical, and equipment erection works at the cement plant in Rajasthan.

The company’s railways strategic business unit of the Transportation Infrastructure business has bagged an order from the Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE).

Under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), Package EPC-15A order, L&T will be responsible for 25 KV overhead electrification, power supply, signaling and telecommunication and related works for 383.4 RKM/459 TKM of Railway Lines in the Northeast Frontier Railway.

Earlier this month, L&T said that it was given the go-ahead to begin construction on the 300MW Jeddah solar power plant in Saudi Arabia.
