Huntsman wraps up $250m acquisition of Gabriel Performance Products

Huntsman, a manufacturer and marketer of differentiated and specialty chemicals, has wrapped up its $250 million acquisition of Ohio-based specialty chemical manufacturer Gabriel Performance Products from Audax Private Equity.

The all-cash deal was announced in December 2020.

Gabriel Performance Products manufactures specialty additives and epoxy curing agents. The specialty chemical manufacturer caters to the coatings, adhesives, sealants, and composite end-markets.

In 2019, Gabriel Performance Products had revenues of around $106 million. The company has three manufacturing facilities in Ashtabula, Ohio, Harrison City, Pennsylvania, and Rock Hill, South Carolina.

At the time of signing the deal, Scott Wright – President of Huntsman Advanced Materials division said: “The acquisition of Gabriel Performance Products broadens the offering in our specialty portfolio and is complementary to our recent acquisition of CVC Thermoset Specialties.

“Gabriel makes highly specialized toughening and curing agents and other additives used in a wide range of composite, adhesive and coatings applications. We expect that the Gabriel business will strengthen our North America footprint and provide significant commercial synergies as we expand and globalize their specialty products across our global footprint and customer base.”
