Hotel Okura to invest $1bn to renovate Hotel Okura Tokyo as The Okura Tokyo

Japanese hotel chain Hotel Okura said that it Hotel Okura Tokyo, a luxury grand hotel in downtown Tokyo will be renovated with an investment of ¥110 billion ($1.0 billion) into a 508-room The Okura Tokyo by September 2019.

The Okura Tokyo luxury grand hotel will reprise the traditional Japanese looks of Hotel Okura Tokyo and will offer contemporary luxury blended with traditional luxury. For the record, Hotel Okura Tokyo, which is located next to the US Embassy, had opened its doors way back in 1962.

According to Hotel Okura, its new luxury grand hotel in Tokyo will comprise two buildings on the property – The Okura Heritage Wing and The Okura Prestige Tower. Half of the property will be full of lush gardens and greenery.

The 75m tall Okura Heritage Wing, a 17-story structure of The Okura Tokyo will have its own reception and will serve as a top-end luxury hotel providing the classical Japanese ambience. It will house the Yamazato Japanese restaurant and also the Chosho-an tea ceremony room.

On the other hand, the 188m long The Okura Prestige Tower, a 41-story structure will combine premium quality accented with refined Japanese aesthetics.

Guest rooms in The Okura Prestige Tower of The Okura Tokyo will start on the 28th floor to provide wonderful views of Tokyo from every room.

The Okura Prestige Tower will provide fine dining options as well as banquet facilities, including a large ballroom that can be used for hosting prestigious international conferences.

The Okura Tokyo will accept advanced reservations for individuals starting from April 2019 and advance reservations for meetings, conferences, incentives and exhibitions from September 2018.
