Azumakogen Wind Farm : Vestas wins order for nine V105-3.45 MW turbines

Danish turbine maker Vestas has signed a contract with Toda Corporation to supply 32MW turbines for the Azumakogen Wind Farm in Fukushima prefecture, Japan.

The wind farm, which is being constructed by Toda Corporation, is owned by Japan Renewable Energy Corporation (JRE), Fukushima Mirai Kenkyukai, General Foundation and Shinobuyama Fukushima Power Co.

The Azumakogen Wind Farm will comprise nine V105-3.45 MW turbines with each having 3.6MW capacity operating mode and a tower height of 84m.

Vestas said that the turbine delivery will commence in Q2 2022 with the Azumakogen wind project anticipated to be operational in the fourth quarter of next year.

In March 2021, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer bagged a 43MW supply order for the Yokohama-machi wind power plant in Aomori prefecture in Japan. The Yokohama-machi wind farm is owned by Japan Wind Development and will be equipped with nine V117-3.45 MW and three V105-3.45 MW turbines.
