Walt Disney opens new Disney Store in Shanghai in HKRI Taikoo Hui Mall
Retail industry news : Walt Disney has inaugurated a new Disney Store in Shanghai, China in the HKRI Taikoo Hui Mall to offer customers exclusive Disney merchandise that is locally designed.
The new Disney Store in Shanghai is located in what is called as a vibrant shopping and entertaining hub on the 789 Nanjing Road (West) in Jingan District and is claimed to bring unique Disney shopping experience.
It is the second Disney Store in Shanghai with the other one being the Shanghai Lujiazui Flagship Store in Lujiazui district which opened in May 2015.
The Jingan District Disney Store in Shanghai has seen the launch of China’s first ever upscale exclusive fashion collection of bags in the M28 Mickey Collection line.
According to Disney Store, the M28 Mickey Collection bag range comes with a black theme color coupled with the iconic white gloves of the Mickey Mouse as a major design element. The specialty store chain says that the new M28 Mickey Collection marks its continued push into Chinese high fashion.

An exclusive Golden Metallic Mickey Wall and 888 limited-edition Mickey plush key chains will be featured for the first two opening weeks of the new Disney Store in Shanghai. The Mickey plush key chains come in metallic color and are hung from ceiling to floor.
Disney Store stated that customers can pre-order the numbered key chains during the opening period of the Jingan District Disney Store.
The new Disney Store in Shanghai has its interior filled with Disney images along with three-dimensional elements. It also has a large LED screen at its entrance to show Disney stories and Disney characters in an interactive manner covering Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
Commenting on the opening of the new Disney Store in Shanghai, Kermid Rahman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive, China Vice President and General Manager said: “We’re committed to bringing consumers new, immersive retail experiences and high-quality products from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
“This new store complements our comprehensive retail offering that includes licensing and e-commerce and delivers a mix of unique locally and internationally designed products.”
