Valvoline launches new Modern Engine Full Synthetic Motor Oil

Valvoline, a global supplier of branded lubricants and automotive services, has launched a new product in the form of Valvoline Modern Engine Full Synthetic Motor Oil, which is precisely engineered to provide protection against build-up of carbon in Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), turbo and other engines manufactured from 2012.

The company says that engines in vehicles manufactured since 2012 and newer are built smaller than their predecessors and have more efficiency.

Due to this, they run hotter, and are more prone to developing Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) knocking because of abnormal combustion, and also result in fuel and oil related carbon build-up.

These problems could end up in power and fuel economy loss and eventually in breakdown of engine, says Valvoline.

Heidi Matheys – chief marketing officer of Valvoline, commenting on the launch of Valvoline Modern Engine Full Synthetic Motor Oil, said: “For over 150 years, Valvoline has been at the helm of product innovation, meeting consumer needs with smart science and solutions. Our team is leading the industry with the launch of Valvoline Modern Engine.

“As part of our full synthetic portfolio, Modern Engine will combat potential carbon build-up in newer engines – an issue that degrades vehicle performance. Most consumers are unaware that the issue even exists, even though it has the potential to impact roughly 100 million newer vehicles on the road today.”

Valvoline says that it has been leading the fight against carbon build-up in newer engines and last year was first to launch an innovative carbon build-up cleaning solution branded as Easy GDI Fuel System Service with Power Dispersal Technology.

The company says that it not only has a method to get rid of carbon build-up but can also shield the modern engines, thereby helping to stop carbon build-up on intake valves, turbo-chargers and pistons.

Commenting on the launch of Valvoline Modern Engine Full Synthetic Motor Oil, Fran Lockwood – chief technology officer at Valvoline, said: “Valvoline Modern Engine captures key learnings from extensive research on how motor oil formulation — namely oil properties and additive composition — not only influence but can actually help prevent the formation of carbon deposits in the newest engine models.

“With this innovative new product, we are seeing a significant reduction of carbon build-up. Our research indicates that Modern Engine provides 30 percent better protection against carbon build-up than industry standards.”
