US technology company Pitney Bowes has entered into a partnership with Indian logistics technology company Shyplite to launch a multicarrier shipping platform for small businesses (SMBs) in an effort to simplify office shipping.

Based in Connecticut, Pitney Bowes provides commerce solutions in areas like e-commerce, shipping, finance, mailing, and data. Shyplite is a logistics technology company with multi-carrier integrated SaaS platform.

Shyplite, on the other hand, helps E-retailers to automate their logistics and boost efficiency in shipments by offering them a single window SaaS-based shipping platform integrated with multiple carriers.

The partnership is expected to generate cost savings for small and medium-sized businesses in India by streamlining parcel delivery. Customers can select the most efficient shipping option at the best price which creates an enhanced customer experience with each parcel delivery.

Sugam Jain, CEO and Co-Founder, Shyplite said: “This alliance is a step forward in making shipping affordable, simple and reliable for smaller businesses in India that previously did not have access to the improved customer experience and cost savings of a shipping platform like we have developed”.

According to Pitney Bowes, small businesses and e-commerce retailers can focus on satisfying their customers and growing their business by removing the complexity of daily shipping through the partnership’s multicarrier shipping platform. In addition to that, the multicarrier shipping platform solution through a single convenient dashboard gives plug-ins for shopping platforms, parcel tracking, parcel consignment, billing, and customer support.

Venkat Rao – Country Director, Pitney Bowes India said: “For nearly 100 years, Pitney Bowes has been removing the complexity of mailing for our clients. Now, we are focused on doing the same for shipping.

“We look forward to continuing to innovate with our partner Shyplite.”

As per Pitney Bowes Shipping Index, in 2017, India shipped one parcel per person. The overall parcel volume increased 15% year over year, reaching a total of 1.5 billion parcels shipped compared to 1.3 billion parcels in the year 2016.

The new multicarrier shipping platform is expected to lower shipping costs to retailers and office shippers alike along with increasing the speed of accurate delivery to Indian customers and online shoppers.
