Fresenius Medical Care opens new dialysis learning center in Philippines

Dialysis products and services provider Fresenius Medical Care has opened its new dialysis learning center in Makati, Philippines, called The Fresenius Medical Care Asia Pacific Education Center.

Fresenius Medical Care said that with the global demand for dialysis expected to more than double by the year 2030, and with most of that growth to come from Asia, there is an urgent requirement for health care professionals to access education that can increase their knowledge and skills in dialysis.

Clinicians and technicians who offer renal care across the Asia Pacific region, through the new dialysis learning hub in Makati,  will be able to access the high standard of dialysis training from Fresenius Medical Care, thereby creating a new benchmark for training in that part of the world.

For more than 20 years, Fresenius Medical Care is said to have been supporting people in Asia Pacific who are having chronic kidney disease (CKD). This is achieved by providing dialysis products and services and also high-quality education of the employees who give life-sustaining dialysis care, said Fresenius Medical Care.

Having provided the education to their own staff and customers for more than 20 years, Fresenius Medical Care believes that the new dialysis learning center in Makati will enable sharing of the same high standard of education with the larger dialysis community.

The dialysis learning center in Makati will provide more than 20 different education programs for renal nurses and also technical staff, serving different backgrounds and knowledge levels.

The programs will focus on practical as well as simulation learning and promote problem-solving that helps students to develop more critical thinking and to practice crucial clinical decision-making skills.

According to Fresenius Medical Care, the state-of-the-art environment of the new dialysis learning center in Makati will encourage learning by employing advanced equipment in a completely functional clinical training area.

The dialysis learning hub will be designed to simulate an innovative clinical environment and will have 18 dialysis machines that enable training for a variety of different therapy areas used in different nations – from home dialysis to chronic hemodialysis, and nutrition management systems – through to a completely functional water treatment system.
