Affinity Beverage Group acquires Jawea ice cream brand

Food acquisition news : Florida-based Affinity Beverage Group has acquired Artisanal Edge, the owner of New York-based Jawea dairy-free frozen desserts for an undisclosed price.

Launched in late 2015, Jawea is a range of all natural, vegan coconut-based ice cream that is free from gluten and soy.

The Jawea ice cream range is available currently in five flavors and is sold in more than 250 locations in the Northeastern US.

The Jawea ice cream products can be found at Whole Foods Market, Bareburger, Wakefern/Shop Rite, Fairway and also in some of the grocery stores, specialty retailers and restaurants in the New York Metro/Tri-State region.

Artisanal Edge also has regional distribution secured for Jawea ice cream products through food and beverage distributors Sysco and UNFI.

According to Affinity Beverage Group, the Jawea ice cream products are non-dairy and have half the sugar of traditional ice cream.

Commenting on Affinity Beverage acquisition of Jawea ice cream, Janon Costley – CEO of Affinity Beverage Group, said: “We are very excited to finally add JAWEA as an official member of the Affinity brand portfolio and we are prepared to move full steam ahead with our plans to expand the brands sales and distribution footprint and product assortment.
